THE ¼% APPLIES ONLY TO EARNED INCOME FOR PEOPLE WHO WORK OR LIVE IN DAYTON.
IT WILL NOT TAX SOCIAL SECURITY, PENSIONS, 401K’S, IRA’S, INTEREST, RETIREMENT, INVESTMENT INCOME, OR UNEMPLOYMENT.
MORE THAN HALF WILL BE PAID BY COMMUTERS– THOSE WHO LIVE OUTSIDE DAYTON, BUT WORK HERE AND USE CITY SERVICES.
DAYTON RESIDENTS WHO WORK IN OTHER CITIES RECEIVE A TAX CREDIT FROM DAYTON.
The renewal maintains a full (2.5%) credit for Dayton residents who pay earned income taxes to other cities.
